Captain Ethel A. Booth enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps (ANC) 19 July 1941 at Camp Davis, NC. She was transferred to Camp Sutton, NC in April 1942 and promoted to First Lieutenant in October. On 27 January 1943, she was reassigned to 157th Station Hospital at Camp Shelby, Mississippi. She returned to Camp Sutton in September for basic training and was promoted to Captain in March 1944.
